Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I build a car?
A: Building a soap box car is easier than you think. All the
parts you need are included in kits you can purchase from the All
American Soap Box Derby. No cutting or drilling is required.
The kit can be assembled in a weekend using only simple hand tools.
Your whole family can help! Make them part of your racing
team.
Q: What is a sponsor and how can I find
one?
A: Families, business, community associations, schools and other
organizations can sponsor a racer. Many racers find more than
one sponsor to help defray the costs of the car. Be sure to tell
potential sponsors that their logo can go on the car, their names
will go in the race day program and be announced during the race.
Q: How can I get a kit??
A: Kits can be ordered from the All American Soap Box Derby at
www.aasbd.com . Kits do not
include wheels so make sure to order both. Prices vary on the

to $583. Most racers find sponsors to help defray the
costs of new kits. You can also check with the local derby
director for available used cars.
