Richmond Soap Box Derby

The Richmond Soap Box Derby currently races two divisions of the All American Soap Box derby, Stock and Super Stock.  Cars are built from kits that are purchased directly from the All American Soap Box Derby and can be assembled in a weekend using simple tools. 

Stock - This division is for racers age 8 to 13 and can accommodate racers up to 5'3" tall and 125 lbs.  Because painting is not permitted on the stock shell, drivers have the choice of purchasing one of three colors; red, white or blue.

Super Stock - For racers age 10-17.  Super stock cars can accommodate racers up to 6' tall and 150 lbs.  Super stock cars can be painted.

 

Rules

The Richmond Soap Box Derby is run under the rules of the All American Soap Box Derby.  Current plans and rules are available from the All American Soap Box Derby web site.   Racers using older cars are advised to review current rules for required changes and modifications.  The final decision on rules at the local race is made by the local Derby Director.
